A Message from the Spiegeltent Newcastle Team | Coronavirus Update
In light of the evolving status of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), and on advice from Australian Health Officials and the Australian government, it is with heavy hearts that we today announce that the March-April Spiegeltent Newcastle season will not proceed as originally planned. Instead, the season will be postponed with new dates to be announced.
We do not make this decision lightly, and understand that many in our immediate and extended community will be affected. However, our first priority must be the health of everyone in our community.
The Spiegeltent operates in an unusual way for an arts company, in that it has no government support. Instead we’re dependent on sponsorship and ticket sales. It’s a particularly difficult and unusual time to be in show business. We hope that Newcastle audiences will stick with us and support the Spiegeltent and its artists as we plan the season for later in the year.
All current tickets purchased will be honoured for the new season dates. For those customers who wish to receive a refund, we will announce details of the refund process once we announce the rescheduled dates.
“Newcastle loves the Spiegeltent, and we always look forward to the Newcastle season, so it’s a difficult decision that we’ve reached today. We’ll be planning our return as soon as it’s possible” says Scott Maidment, Creative Director of Strut and Fret.
